Education Associate - Visual & Performing Arts (60023925)
Role Summary: The Education Associate for Visual and Performing Arts supports South Carolina schools and districts in the effective implementation of South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Standards in the visual and performing arts. This position develops, implements, and evaluates standards-based instructional resources and professional learning opportunities that enhance educator capacity and improve student achievement. The role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to advance the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate and ensure equitable access to high-quality arts education across the state.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assist in the development, review, and revision of South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Academic Standards and related instructional resources for visual and performing arts education.
- Design, deliver, and evaluate professional learning opportunities that strengthen educator effectiveness and improve student outcomes.
- Provide technical assistance and support to teachers, school leaders, and district personnel regarding standards implementation, curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.
- Collaborate with SCDE offices, educational organizations, institutions of higher education, community partners, and state and national stakeholders to support arts education initiatives.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement efforts.
- Develop and maintain guidance documents, presentations, communications, and instructional materials to support statewide implementation efforts.
- Participate in professional learning and leadership opportunities to model effective educational practices and support agency goals.
- Complete additional duties as assigned, including occasional in-state and limited out-of-state travel.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree and experience in education, management, or business.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience in Visual and Performing Arts Education or closely related professional experience.
- Experience developing and implementing instructional resources that support student learning.
- Experience designing, facilitating, and evaluating professional development opportunities.
- Experience using qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate outcomes and inform decision-making.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, accept constructive feedback, and foster positive professional relationships.
- Experience with coaching, administration, and professional learning facilitation preferred.

Schedule
This position requires occasional overnight travel, limited out-of-state travel, and may involve substantial in-state travel to support training and technical assistance activities throughout South Carolina.
