About the role
Education Assistants play a key role in the delivery of a range of face-to-face education and public programs to visitors to the Memorial, including school students, teachers, community, and other special interest groups. In addition, Education Assistants contribute to program development, deliver front-of-house services, and assist with project work and administrative functions.
You will have strong people skills and customer service, flexibility when working in a busy environment, and empathy for the purpose and mission of the Memorial.
Responsibilities
- Deliver face-to-face education and public programs to visitors, including school groups, teachers, and community groups
- Contribute to program development
- Provide front-of-house services
- Assist with project work and administrative functions
Requirements
- Demonstrate physical ability and mobility to safely move through galleries, including walking and standing for extended periods on hard surfaces
- Perform manual handling tasks as required
- Minimum availability of two shifts per week; both weekday and weekend availability is desirable
- Comply with restrictions on visible tattoos, piercings, or hairstyles as part of the Memorial’s corporate image standards
Schedule
Employment is casual with no set hours. Rostered shifts are based on the changing demands of visitor bookings.
Pay
$70,477 to $76,820 per annum (pro-rated for casual hours).
