Position at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History supporting the Education Department with natural and cultural history programs for youth ages 3-17.

Responsibilities

  • Assist museum educators with conducting activities and supervising students
  • Help with regular classroom set-up and clean-up
  • Prepare for programs and perform other duties as assigned
  • Handle museum specimens and objects, and assist with collection care
  • Participate in outdoor programs

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in the Fall Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma (hiring contingent upon verification of current student status)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with children in a daycare, classroom, or informal education setting
  • Interest in science and natural history education
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proactive and able to prioritize tasks independently
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must pass a background check

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a classroom setting
  • Coursework in life science, natural history, or anthropology
  • Familiarity with local plants and animals

Pay

Targeted salary of $11/hour, based on education and experience.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with some evenings and weekends.
