Position at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History supporting the Education Department with natural and cultural history programs for youth ages 3-17.
Responsibilities
- Assist museum educators with conducting activities and supervising students
- Help with regular classroom set-up and clean-up
- Prepare for programs and perform other duties as assigned
- Handle museum specimens and objects, and assist with collection care
- Participate in outdoor programs
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in the Fall Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma (hiring contingent upon verification of current student status)
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working with children in a daycare, classroom, or informal education setting
- Interest in science and natural history education
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Proactive and able to prioritize tasks independently
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must pass a background check
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a classroom setting
- Coursework in life science, natural history, or anthropology
- Familiarity with local plants and animals
Pay
Targeted salary of $11/hour, based on education and experience.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with some evenings and weekends.
