Education and Social Skills Trainer (Mathematics)

About the role

The Education/Social Skills Trainer will provide literacy, education, skill-based, relationship building, leadership development and service-learning opportunities for youth Project participants and develop a strategy to provide appropriate educational opportunities in partnership with local educational institutions.

Responsibilities

• Teach basic math and test-taking to prepare Project participants to successfully pass the tests of General Education Development (HiSET) and receive a Credential
• Help open the doors to higher education, better job opportunities, and increased standards of living
• Conduct monthly Best Practices for Social Skills Training and Skill-based Interventions during the monthly Group Training Sessions for Project participants
• Guide Project youth in conducting Peer Training for at-risk youth at a Community Service Project Site
• Conduct pre-tests and test-taking to prepare Project participants to successfully pass the tests of Social/Life Skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Current valid Louisiana Teaching Credential
• Must possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License at time of appointment
• 3 to 5 Years as a teacher in Elementary, High school, or College level
