About the role

The exercise science faculty in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time, renewable contract (non-tenure track) position at the clinical assistant professor rank in exercise science to begin August 2026.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 8 classes during the academic year in exercise science or related areas
• Meet with prospective students and their families and attend events on campus aimed at prospective students
• Participate in professional organizations
• Engage in service activities related to the departmental and college missions

Requirements

• Earned doctorate in exercise science, or related field
• Previous teaching experience in exercise science

Qualifications

• Professional certification such as ACSM-EP or NSCA CSCS

Skills

• Ability to teach a variety of exercise science courses
• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
