EDM Tech

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Run wire EDM, Sinker EDM programs and set up
• Maintain proper inventory for machine spare parts
• Perform preventative maintenance cleaning for machines
• Maintain documentation of maintenance performed on all EDM machines
• Perform machine specific cleaning procedures
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement

Minimum Skills and Education

• Prior high school diploma or GED
• One (1) year machine shop certificate or equivalent experience
• Ability to read a blueprint
• Basic math ability
• Working knowledge of metric measuring system
• Experience in the use of calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges
• Some technical level courses
• Advanced programming skills
• Greater than one (1) year of experience in machine shop and/or die making
• Solidworks 3D Design

Pay

The starting rate for our Die Shop Employees is $16 - $28 an hour based upon experience and certifications.

Location

Works inside plant where there is a great deal of noise. The work may be dusty, dirty and greasy. Exposed to chemicals in coolants and handles sharp edged metal. Works on a hard surface; stands, stoops, bends and lifts heavy objects (approximately 100 lbs.). May be necessary to operate more than one machine at a time.
