About the role

The Supervisor II manages statewide litigation support services for the Attorney General's Office, focusing on ESI management, review tools, and applications relevant to legal matters. Responsibilities include providing guidance and training to managers and staff, staying current in legal and technical matters, ensuring statewide consistency in procedures, and overseeing eDiscovery & Litigation Services (eDLS) contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage statewide litigation support services, emphasizing ESI management, review tools, and applications.
  • Provide guidance and training to statewide managers and subordinate staff on day-to-day operations.
  • Stay current in legal and technical matters related to litigation support and eDiscovery.
  • Ensure statewide consistency in the application of Department and section procedures.
  • Oversight of all eDiscovery & Litigation Services (eDLS) contracts for vendor-provided litigation support services.
  • Show strong working knowledge of the litigation process, including both civil and criminal aspects, and the use of technology to support litigation.
  • Understand legal terminology and the needs of a legal team in presenting information supporting litigation.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in litigation support, eDiscovery, or a related field. Must have a strong working knowledge of the litigation process, both civil and criminal, and an understanding of technology used to support litigation. A Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of the required experience.

Qualifications

Must have a valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed. Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time.

Skills

Strong working knowledge of litigation processes, both civil and criminal. Proficiency in legal terminology and the needs of a legal team in presenting information in support of litigation. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with litigation support software.

$7,872.00 - $9,781.00
