Editor & Producer

Responsibilities

• Edit video, ingest video feeds and work with multiple news operations, as well as Univision Network News, simultaneously to efficiently move content between different points
• Work closely with Assignment Managers, Executive Producers, and Producers at local stations across the country to coordinate coverage of daily stories and breaking news
• Work closely with Network News and Vix Noticias 24/7 to coordinate coverage of daily stories and breaking news
• Gather information about developing news stories and handle all inquiries and requests from local and network teams
• Collaborate with local stations to identify, edit, caption and upload content to multiple digital platforms
• Other tasks assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Broadcast Journalism/Mass Communications
• Must be fully bilingual Spanish/English, both written and spoken
• Must be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays and during natural disasters such as Hurricanes
• Knowledge of iNews, video editing (such as Avid, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut), and file sharing systems
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and other non-editing business applications
• Familiar with video and wire services
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Must work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• Willingness to work from office in Miami
• Employment/education will be verified
• Willingness to submit to a background investigation
