About the role

The eDiscovery Technical Advisor will support various aspects of the company's portfolio, assisting with legal accounts. Key responsibilities include identifying, preserving, collecting, processing, and producing Electronic Stored Information (ESI) in support of civil and criminal litigation, FOIA requests, Congressional requests, and other inquiries. Additionally, the role involves working with the litigation team to develop discovery plans, using electronic discovery software applications to collect data, administering data inputs into review platforms, coordinating with FBI units, providing technical assistance, documenting plans and procedures, facilitating legal hold implementations, and providing ad hoc support.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, preserve, collect, process, and produce ESI in support of civil and criminal litigation, FOIA requests, Congressional requests, and other inquiries.
  • Provide expertise specifically in criminal discovery support, including identifying, preserving, collecting, processing, and producing ESI.
  • Serve as the expert technical user of available electronic discovery applications, such as Enterprise Vault, Discovery Accelerator, Legal Hold Management Tool (LHMT), and the Veritas eDiscovery Platform.
  • Develop and implement discovery plans, including defining search parameters for specific cases.
  • Use electronic discovery software applications to collect data from various FBI storage locations on IT systems.
  • Analyze search/collection results for data gaps and handle user access rights in an electronic discovery review platform.
  • Coordinate electronic discovery collection results with FBI units responsible for processing discovery.
  • Adhere to policies and technical procedures for the use of available electronic discovery software applications and provide training and technical assistance.
  • Provide information and advice on instructions regarding the FBI's process for identifying, preserving, collecting, analyzing, and organizing ESI, including the use of electronic discovery software programs.
  • Facilitate requests for legal hold implementation, amendment, and/or lift that are submitted by various requesters in LHMT.
  • Document electronic discovery plans and procedures for each individual case.
  • Provide ad hoc support to end users of the electronic discovery review platform repository.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of eDiscovery/litigation support experience with a focus on client solutions.
  • 3+ years of progressive more responsible experience on major lit support projects.
  • 2 years of experience in Relativity.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with both eDiscovery technical teams and non-technical business leaders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and agile work environment.
  • Experience and familiarity with eDiscovery Services covering all realms of the EDRM (File to Trial).
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (active clearance preferred).
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience (JD highly preferred).
