About the role

The eDiscovery Analyst is a member of the firm’s Practice Solutions team within the Technology Innovation & Practice Solutions Department. This role provides project management and technical support to the firm’s eDiscovery Team and Matter Teams utilizing eDiscovery services. This is a firmwide, full-time, non-exempt position and can be resident in our Austin, Dallas, or Houston office.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver project management support to the eDiscovery Team and Matter Teams on matters involving eDiscovery, including monitoring deadlines, deliverables, and dependencies.
  • Process data, create Relativity workspaces, batch documents, create search term reports, create productions, and perform other project management functions in Relativity.
  • Conduct QC and completion of work requests.
  • Maintain protocols for project onboarding and closing, post-mortem reporting, and document retention and disposition activities.
  • Accurately track incoming projects and progress, and communicate regularly with matter teams.
  • Develop and maintain a functional and current understanding of defensible practices and industry guidance related to eDiscovery.
  • Support administrative processes related to service management including timekeeping and reporting.
  • Perform other administrative tasks and supporting-role duties as assigned, including assisting with team coordination, matter support, reporting, documentation, and follow-up activities.
  • Learn new technologies and deploy knowledge to assist managers and matter teams outside of standard eDiscovery platforms and workflows.
  • Develop and maintain a basic understanding of artificial intelligence technologies and assist with the administration, testing, and support of approved AI tools used by the Practice Solutions team and matter teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal environment (litigation or eDiscovery) preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Relativity and have database management experience. Relativity Certified Admin credentials preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of case management tools such as Opus2, Everchron, or CaseMap a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of Agility Blue a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of common general functionality and legal AI tools a plus but not required.
  • Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS) Certification a plus.
  • Strong analytical and logic skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written or oral form.
  • Ability to work within timelines.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle a changing and growing workload.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals.
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be reliable, a self-starter, and have a professional demeanor.

Success in this role

High performance in this role involves accomplishing key tasks within the first 6–12 months, such as mastering eDiscovery workflows, effectively managing multiple projects under tight deadlines, and demonstrating adaptability to evolving technologies and workload demands. The firm values proactive problem-solving, strong collaboration with legal teams, and a commitment to maintaining defensible eDiscovery practices.

How you'll work

  • Extent of Contact: Extensive daily contact with lawyers, staff, and colleagues across all firm offices. Moderate contact with clients and eDiscovery vendors. Daily contact with peers in the litigation support area.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift boxes of files weighing approximately 15 pounds and routinely lift and carry file folders weighing up to 5-10 pounds. Must be able to spend long periods working at a computer workstation and perform tasks requiring lifting, squatting, kneeling, and bending.
  • Working Conditions and Environment: This role may be hybrid, requiring a minimum of three days per week (or at least 60%) in the office, with up to two days per week (40%) performed remotely. The position is full-time, requiring a five-day work week with hours as established by your supervisor. Work may require additional hours, including weekends, to meet deadlines or manage workload peaks. Must be available to adjust work schedules as needed and work well under time constraints and frequent interruptions in high-pressure environments.
