About the role
The EDI/XML SME position requires minimal direction and supports, analyzes, and researches exceptionally complex problems and processes. They serve as a technical expert on executive-level project teams, providing technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives.
Responsibilities
- Supports and analyzes exceptionally complex problems and processes
- Serves as a technical expert on executive-level project teams providing technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives
- Communicates accurately and independently with exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines
- Guides the successful completion of major programs and functions in a project leadership role
- Develops technical solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and creativity
Requirements
- Ten (10) years of experience in a relevant field, specifically EDI/XML electronic data exchange experience (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology)
- Specific logistics function experience (e.g., finance, supply, contract administration, transportation, operations research)
- First-hand knowledge of DoD/Component policies, business procedures, business rules, data standards and transaction standards (both DLMS and legacy formats)
- Knowledge of DLA Distribution Depot and DLA Materiel Management operations, procedures, and supporting automated information systems
- IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 3 (T3) at time of proposal submission
Qualifications
- Extensive technical expertise in a particular area of Information Technology or a specific functional area
- Ability to communicate accurately and independently with exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods, reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries, and/or reports in written format
- Ability to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds
- Regular and predictable attendance is essential
