ED Technician Nights

About the role

Attaches and completes 12 lead EKG tests before providing the strip to the physician on duty. Initiates cardiac monitoring, detects dysrhythmias, and notifies the assigned nurse or charge nurse of abnormalities. Performs venipuncture for testing and inserts peripheral IVs, hang IV fluid without medication, and maintains prescribed IV flow rates. Observes and documents the condition of infusion sites and remove IV lines as directed by registered nurse. Assists physician or registered nurse with procedures and exams. Follows Center for Disease Control isolation guidelines, demonstrate appropriate use of personal protective equipment, perform hand washing according to policy, and enforce safety regulations.

  • Demonstrated clinical competence in relevant areas [Required]

  • Ability to remain calm and focused during in stressful and/or emotionally charged situations [Required]
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to be highly detail oriented [Required]
  • Highly analytical and detailed oriented [Required]
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with a patient centric approach [Required]
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and have good comprehension of conversational English [Required]
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

Qualifications

  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
  • 1+ year ed or pre-hospital paramedic experience [Required]
  • Monitor Tech cross-training [Preferred]
