ED Technician (Full-time regular, Night Shift)

Centrally located within the heart of California, Adventist Health Tulare has been serving the Central Valley since 2018. We are comprised of a 108-bed acute care hospital, emergency department and provide primary and specialty care services to best serve our community. Tulare is situated in a delightful and geographically diverse region with opportunities for all-season outdoor recreation such as camping, hiking, water and snow skiing, fishing, and boating. About the role

Assists the Registered Nurse (RN) and physician with assessments, examinations, and treatments. Performs a variety of technical and patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Also performs essential functions of the Unit Secretary.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Registered Nurse (RN) and physician with assessments, examinations, and treatments.
• Documents patient care performed, including vital signs, bedside care, and observations.
• Maintains state of readiness by maintaining equipment/supplies appropriate to the position.
• Assists in cost containment through the appropriate ordering and conserving of supplies and equipment.
• Prioritizes patient care and department needs, sets goals, and organizes time to meet daily demands of nursing care.
• Observes, documents, and reports patient condition and changes in condition to the RN, MD/Provider.
• Provides patient and family education within scope of practice.
• Records and collects specimens.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (CMA), or Paramedic certification: Preferred
• Phlebotomist Technician license: Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or National Emergency Medical Tech (NEMT) or Paramedic (PM): Required

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $25.00 to $31.84 per hour. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc.
