About the role

Sentara is hiring an Emergency Department Technician for Sentara Belleharbour - Eves 11A-11P.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses in providing patient care
• Administer medications and treatments as directed
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to supervising staff
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist during examinations
• Document patient encounters and treatment in medical records
• Ensure patient comfort and safety

Requirements

• HS Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire for all incumbents
• New incumbents must have one of the following in addition to the minimum Education:
• EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire
• Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates
• Current student enrolled in clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program
• Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.

Qualifications

• One year of previous healthcare experience (Required)
