ED Observer, part time 7p-7a

About the role

The purpose of the One to One Observer is to provide personal constant observation of a patient, communicate with and support the healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family or significant other(s), and maintain and demonstrate high standards of professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Provides constant one-to-one observation of assigned patient which includes providing a safe environment and positive interaction in a calm environment.
• Provides restraint care to patients in restraints.
• Identifies and communicates changes in patient’s status to RN and responds appropriately.
• Assists in orientation of healthcare team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must have strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of Observer course or equivalent is mandatory.
