About the role
We are seeking an experienced ED Coding Specialist 3 to join our team. This position will be based in the US and will require full-time remote work.
Responsibilities
- Review and accurately code electronic health records (EHRs) according to coding guidelines and standards.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and policies related to coding and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare providers and other medical professionals to ensure accurate and complete coding.
- Provide guidance and training to less experienced coders as needed.
- Stay updated on changes in coding practices and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Medical Records Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in an ED setting.
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
