About the role
HIMpros is seeking an experienced ED Coder to join one of their healthcare clients. The role offers full remote work and competitive benefits.
Responsibilities
- Review Emergency Department records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
- Ensure coding is compliant with coding guidelines and payer requirements.
- Work with providers when documentation clarification is needed.
- Maintain quality and productivity expectations while meeting turnaround times.
- Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Active CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certification.
- At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department coding experience.
- Strong understanding of ED coding guidelines, E/M leveling, ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
- Experience working remotely and managing workload independently.
- Epic and/or 3M experience is a plus.
Qualifications
