ED Assistant Nurse Manager

About the role

The RN - Assistant Nurse Manager assists the Nurse Manager in the organization and implementation of day-to-day unit operations. They are responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and evaluating unit activities to ensure the provision of quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and coordinate unit activities to support the provision of quality patient care.
• Evaluate unit activities to ensure compliance with organizational and departmental goals and objectives.
• Assist the Nurse Manager with interview/hiring process, disciplinary processes, performance evaluations, scheduling, and verification of competencies of staff.
• Supervise and train staff, organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum 1 year staff nurse experience required in hospital areas, 3 years required in Oncology at MCC.
• Charge Nurse experience required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license.
• BLS required, ACLS/PALS/NRP required dependant upon speciality area, Chemotherapy/Biotherapy required (at MCC).
• ONCC required within one year of hire (at MCC).

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• Sitting for 80% of the workday and mobility 20% of the workday.
• Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
• Frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
• Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds.
• Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
• Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
• Minimal noise levels.
• Much exposure to computer work.
• Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
• Sometimes exposed to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
• Sometimes exposed to hazardous chemicals.
• Occasionally exposed to radiation.
