What You’ll Do

Drive Projects Forward

  • Support business recruitment and expansion efforts with research, data, and polished materials
  • Help manage the project pipeline, site submissions, and RFI responses that put Putnam County on the map
  • Cook up site visits, partner meetings, and industry engagements that move deals forward
  • Turn Data into Strategy
  • Track and analyze workforce, demographic, and industry trends
  • Maintain and update the Economic Development Dashboard and project tracking systems
  • Prepare clear, compelling reports and briefings for leadership, investors, and public partners

Tell the Putnam County Story

  • Develop presentations, talking points, and marketing content that highlight the County’s assets
  • Support website updates, digital storytelling, and outreach to site selectors and business leaders
  • Help shape the narrative of a community on the rise

Strengthen Local Industries

  • Support Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) visits and follow-up
  • Track business needs and opportunities to help local companies grow and stay competitive
  • Fuel Strategic Initiatives
  • Plan and coordinate events, briefings, and partner meetings that advance economic development priorities
  • Keep operations running smoothly with organized, proactive administrative support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (business, marketing, communications, planning, or related field)
  • Experience in economic development, local government, planning, business services, or nonprofit work is a plus
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM or project management tools is helpful
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and represent the organization professionally
