Contract to hireOak Brook, IL- Hybrid (3 days onsite/2 days remote)Role is targeted as a contract-to-hire, based on performance Position Overview Our client, a leading multi-channel hardware retailer, is seeking an eCommerce Merchandising Coordinator, on a contract-to-hire basis, to support the eCommerce Merchant team with key merchandising, promotional, vendor, and operational initiatives designed to drive online sales growth and enhance the customer experience. This is a great opportunity for an e-commerce focused professional looking to build foundational expertise in promotional, merchandising, digital retail, and online assortment management. The role will provide hands-on exposure to item activation, promotional execution, vendor operations, digital merchandising, content management, and cross-functional business initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. This individual will work closely with Merchandising, Marketing, Digital Product, Operations, Analytics, Inventory, and Vendor teams to ensure a high-quality online shopping experience. Responsibilities Participate in a structured development program designed to build eCommerce merchandising knowledge, systems expertise, and digital retail best practices.Support eCommerce Merchants with item maintenance, online assortment updates, promotional setup, site merchandising, and execution across applicable eCommerce platforms and systems.Assist with planning, execution, and validation of online promotions, including offer setup, promotional funding validation, credits/debits, testing, proofing, and post-launch quality assurance.Coordinate vendor-related eCommerce activities, including onboarding support, communications, performance monitoring, operational compliance, documentation, reporting, and issue resolution.Support the administration and ongoing operations of the company's direct-to-consumer vendor fulfillment program.Partner with Digital Marketing, Digital Operations, Product Content, Inventory, Analytics, Vendor Engagement, and other cross-functional teams to execute eCommerce initiatives.Analyze sales performance, promotional results, assortment gaps, customer trends, and vendor performance to identify opportunities and provide actionable insights.Develop productive working relationships with vendors and assist with onboarding, promotional planning and execution, content collection, digital asset management, and issue resolution.Assist Merchandising leadership with special projects, reporting, process improvement, documentation, and administrative activities.. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, eCommerce, Analytics, Retail, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.1-3 years of experience preferred in eCommerce, merchandising, marketing, retail, category management, or a related fieldProficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word. Use of Salesforce for documentationStrong organizational skills with excellent follow-through and attention to detailStrong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendor partnersWorking knowledge of retail and eCommerce business fundamentals is idealAbility and willingness to learn and navigate eCommerce systems and platforms, including workflow/project management tools, design and collaboration platforms, product information management systems, analytics platforms, and promotional systemsUnderstanding of digital merchandising principles and online customer experience best practicesSelf-motivated, curious, and eager to learn eCommerce merchandising and digital retail strategy The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role.
