Ecological Restoration Technician I
The Role
At RES, we seek individuals passionate about ecological restoration and sustainability, aiming to make a lasting environmental impact through their work.
Responsibilities
- Work on various projects including stream restoration, stormwater management, restoration planting, invasive plant removal/management, and landscape construction.
- Operate heavy equipment such as large trucks, UTVs, brush cutters, augers, and chainsaws.
- Navigate and document work using GPS mapping systems.
- Mix and apply herbicides to manage invasive species.
- Implement an invasive species management program to restore balance to the ecosystem.
- Perform planting and seeding techniques to bring restoration projects to life.
Requirements
- High School degree or equivalent.
- Reliable means of transportation to reach the field office.
- A keen interest in natural resources and the outdoors.
- 1+ years of work experience in ecological restoration.
- Ability to read and understand project plans, details, and specifications.
- Knowledge of native and invasive plant species relevant to your assigned state.
- Experience mixing and applying herbicides for invasive species management.
- Experience in performing planting and seeding techniques.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, walk over uneven surfaces, and work in inclement weather.
- Significant travel within PA, NJ, WV, NY may be required, including overnight stays of 2–4 nights.
