ECMO Specialist

About the role

The ECMO Specialist position at Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) therapy. This includes monitoring patient parameters, administering medications, and ensuring the proper functioning of ECMO equipment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient parameters and adjust ECMO settings as needed
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician’s orders
• Ensure proper functioning of ECMO equipment and troubleshoot issues
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Document patient care activities and communicate with healthcare providers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (nursing, medical technology, etc.)
• Current licensure as an RN in the state of Minnesota
• Experience in critical care or ECMO setting preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Qualifications

• Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in computer systems and electronic health records
