About the role

Harris Regional Hospital is seeking an experienced Echocardiology Tech to join our dedicated team. This role requires an associate's degree and echocardiography certification or eligibility within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient history and physician’s orders.
  • Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Maintains patient monitoring and reports/responds to changes in status as necessary.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Positions patients and performs imaging procedures.
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
  • Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • ASLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree.
  • Echocardiography certification or eligibility within one year of employment.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and imaging techniques.
