About the role
Raleigh General Hospital is seeking a Echocardiology Technician to join our team. This position is part of Lifepoint Health, a diverse healthcare network with facilities nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Reviews patient history and physician’s orders.
- Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
- Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
- Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
- Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
- Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure patient’s understanding and cooperation.
- Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
- Maintains patient condition and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
- Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
- Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
- Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
Requirements
- Associates degree required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
- Certified Echo registry; must have ARDMS registry or be registry eligible; must have cardiac registry with 1 year of employment.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with organization and functions of each hospital department.
- Leadership ability, integrity, and initiative required.
- Ability to solve problems effectively and handle stress in a positive manner.
- Maintain harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and all hospital departments.
Skills
- Familiarity with echocardiography equipment and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Pay
The pay for this position is commensurate with experience.
