About the role
The role involves performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams under physician supervision to identify abnormalities and aid patient diagnosis.
Responsibilities
- Preparing exam rooms, obtaining patient histories, explaining procedures, and positioning patients
- Conducting high-frequency sound wave procedures to evaluate organs and vessels
- Reviewing and ensuring quality of completed tests, capturing accurate images, and documenting findings
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate care
- Monitoring equipment safety, maintaining supplies, and ensuring a clean work environment
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and ensuring patient safety and satisfaction
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- RDCS or RCS certification (or within 18 months of hire)
- Healthcare provider life support certification
Preferred skills
- Associate's degree
- One year ultrasound experience
- Manual dexterity
- Physical ability to lift and move patients and equipment
- Strong communication skills
