About the role
This position involves performing diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound exams to identify abnormalities and support patient diagnosis.
Responsibilities
- Conduct ultrasound procedures on internal organs and vessels.
- Prepare exam rooms, obtain patient history, and explain procedures.
- Review and evaluate completed tests for quality, ensuring accurate images and documentation for physicians.
- Communicate thoroughly with patients, families, and healthcare teams, documenting information accurately and sharing relevant observations.
- Monitor equipment safety and reliability, report issues, maintain supplies, and assist with patient transport.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction, care, and workflow.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS); new graduates must obtain certification within 18 months.
- Health Care Provider Life Support certification.
- Preferred: Associate’s degree and at least one year ultrasound experience.
- Manual dexterity, effective communication, and physical ability to lift and move patients and equipment.
Pay
$38.77 to $59.82 hourly, based on experience.
