About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Echo Tech PRN at St. David's North Austin Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare.
Qualifications
- One year experience performing adult echocardiograms – required
- Proficiency in Stress Echo, TEE – preferred
- Proficiency in Carotid ultrasound, Trans Cranial Doppler studies – preferred
- Associate’s Degree in Ultrasound Technology education (RDMS)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDCS)
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
Skills
Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
Maintains thorough knowledge of the operating parameters of the scanner.
Operates the Ultrasound units efficiently and effectively.
Documents, on PACS or in writing, information seen during exam.
Completes quality scans in a timely manner, effectively organizes and prioritizes workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands.
Demonstrates proficiency in scanning trauma, acute & challenging patients; possess skill to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed.
Relays to Cardiologist any relevant patient information.
Possess knowledge of disease processes and images these findings adequately; communicates them to the Cardiologist.
Demonstrates preparedness for patient arrest or critically ill patients.
Demonstrates the ability to perform organizational and related duties in Ultrasound.
Functions independently and problem solves effectively, considering alternatives.
Clean exam tables and restock Ultrasound supplies as needed or used.
Performs other duties as assigned.
