About the role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Echo Tech to join OrthoArizona’s PeriOperative (Cardiology) Team in Phoenix (Arcadia), AZ and Gilbert, AZ. This part-time position (15–20 hours per week) involves performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations in a collaborative outpatient setting that combines orthopedic and cardiovascular diagnostics.
The Echo Tech will work one day a week in Phoenix, AZ (Arcadia) and one day a week in Gilbert, AZ.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic echocardiograms as ordered by physicians.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and answering any questions.
- Operate ultrasound equipment and adjust settings to obtain optimal images.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document findings appropriately.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide quality patient care.
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
- Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment as needed.
- Upload echo reports into the EMR from the PACS system.
- Ensure echocardiography functions are within compliance of professional scope of practice, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
- Assure the efficient operation of workflow in the department.
- Monitor and maintain an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.
- Perform high-level disinfecting in accordance with manufacturers and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel between sites with reliable transportation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Echo Tech with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Certification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDCS) or CCI.
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound technology and cardiac anatomy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment and communicate with patients.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- BLS certification required.
Schedule
Part-time, 15–20 hours per week. One day per week in Phoenix (Arcadia) and one day per week in Gilbert.
