About This Role

What You'll Do
- Analyze classroom data and develop coaching plans to support teaching staff in achieving improvement goals
- Support teaching staff through regular classroom visits, coaching, and professional development to enhance their practice
- Provide feedback and coaching to teaching staff using the Practice-Based Coaching model to promote best practices
- Maintain certification and reliability in assigned assessment tools and ensure fidelity to designated curriculum
- Collaborate with ECE teams to implement program goals and quality initiatives, and serve as a professional role model in best practices and family engagement
- Communicate classroom needs and ensure compliance with Head Start standards, licensing regulations, and agency policies
- Review lesson plans and support curriculum implementation, ensuring alignment with program goals and quality standards
- Assess classroom environments for quality, safety, and developmentally appropriate practices, and provide coaching and feedback to teaching staff as needed
- Participate in professional development and continuous improvement efforts, and perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and services
- Model and support inclusive practices, language development, and Science of Reading strategies in the classroom
- Develop and maintain coaching documentation, and provide ongoing coaching and support to teaching staff
- Conduct classroom observations using assessment and quality tools to inform coaching and improvement efforts
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure curriculum fidelity and program alignment, and support staff through virtual coaching and other means as needed
- Serve as a liaison between MVCDC and ECE teams, and participate in professional development and continuous improvement efforts
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License and/or access to transportation to other centers as needed
- Reliable certification and/or ability to obtain and maintain reliability in designated assessment and fidelity tools (e.g., CLASS, HighScope, QCIT)
- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse families
- Knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start program standards
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for children birth-5 years
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of the Practice-Based Coaching model and continuous quality improvement practices
- Ability to meet and maintain compliance with DCY, USDA, Health, and Sanitation regulations
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, with problem solving and good decision-making skills
- 2 years in leadership (desired)
- Collaborative, team-oriented with a positive and dedicated work ethic to children and families
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Willingness to continue professional education and learning
