Ebara Pump/Abatement Equipment Technician

About the role

Performs routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades. Coordinates with peers, supervisors, and customers to minimize equipment downtime and responds to emergency service calls as required. Instructs customer operating technicians on system operation and maintenance and maintains records of all activities.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data to determine required work
• Identify technical problems and implement solutions; refer complex issues to appropriate staff
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and maintain accurate records and reports
• Coordinate activities with peers, supervisors, and customers to minimize equipment downtime
• Order and install parts as needed
• Respond to emergency service calls
• Instruct customer operating technicians on system operation and maintenance
• Perform upgrades and modifications to equipment
• Stay current on equipment/tools through training, manuals, and relevant materials
• Maintain upkeep, security, and proper use of company property (vehicles, tools, etc.)
• Follow industry safety procedures for hazardous conditions (chemicals, electric currents, high voltage, moving parts, radiation, etc.)
• Maintain personal and professional conduct standards to retain site access authorization

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting abilities and mechanical aptitude
• Intermediate math skills for data analysis
• Knowledge of commonly used business and technical software
• Experience with hand and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict operational guidelines
• Excellent customer interface skills
• Ability and willingness to work all shifts, including compressed workweeks, 12-hour days/nights, and day shifts
• Must pass required drug screening and background check
• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum education requirement)

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand, sit, utilize hand/finger dexterity, walk (up to 10 miles/day), and talk/hear
• Occasionally climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, work near moving mechanical parts, in high/precarious places, or around fumes/airborne particles/toxic chemicals
• Continually wear a respirator and work in confined spaces
• Occasionally lift/move more than 20 pounds
• Required vision abilities: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection, hard hat, lab coat, gloves, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and respirators
• Ability to safely traverse indoor/outdoor obstacles (ladders, stairs, catwalks, uneven surfaces) for site inspections

Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Chemical hazards are primarily mitigated through engineering controls, but incidental spills may require respirator use and PPE.
