About the role

River Oaks Hospital, a UHS affiliated hospital in metropolitan New Orleans, Louisiana, is a private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents, and children. Established in 1970, River Oaks has a tradition of excellence in treating acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma-based disorders, compulsive behaviors, and eating disorders. Services are available at all levels of care including inpatient, day or partial hospitalization, outpatient, and intensive outpatient.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based interventions.
• Facilitate eating disorder-focused therapeutic and psychoeducational groups.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, case consultations, and care coordination efforts.
• Partner closely with psychiatrists, dietitians, nursing staff, and case managers to ensure integrated treatment planning.
• Support patients and families throughout the recovery process while fostering hope and resilience.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Auxiliary in discharge planning and continuum-of-care recommendations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
• Current Louisiana licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) or license eligible.
• Experience working with patients diagnosed with eating disorders and/or co-occurring behavioral health conditions.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
