About the role
The Instrumentation Technician position at Eastern Controls Inc. supports the reliability, accuracy, and safety of industrial processes by maintaining, calibrating, and servicing the instruments that keep plants running. This role involves hands-on work in various industrial environments, troubleshooting equipment issues, performing repairs, and ensuring equipment operates as intended.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on calibration, testing, and adjustment of industrial instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform mechanical or electrical repairs as needed.
- Support inside and outside sales teams with sizing, application questions, and problem resolution.
- Build trust with customers through reliability, professionalism, and technical expertise.
- Serve as a knowledgeable representative of Eastern Controls while onsite.
Requirements
- You will have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain certifications in all required ECI and Principal programs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain TWIC and PSM credentials.
- Forklift, Scissors, lift, and confined spaces certification may also be required.
- Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record.
- Ability to travel (approximately 15% overnight).
Preferred
- An associate's degree in a technical field.
- One to five years of experience in a hands-on technical application.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience as an electromechanical field tech doing calibration and repairs.
- Demonstrate basic electrical and mechanical knowledge.
- Use of hand tools and electronic testing equipment.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic actuators and familiarity with pneumatics is a strong plus.
