East Bay Division Editor

About the role

The Embarcadero Media Foundation seeks a day-to-day editor for their East Bay Division, overseeing the production of daily newsletters and the weekly newspaper for sites including LivermoreVine.com, DanvilleSanRamon.com, and Pleasanton Weekly.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of reporters, freelancers, and interns to produce daily Express newsletters for each site.
• Support the publication of the weekly newspaper under the direction of the Editorial Director.
• Participate in weekly management meetings to guide the East Bay Division's operations.
• Represent the organization at community events and represent the news brands in the community.
• Ensure the delivery of the very latest breaking news, including some night and weekend work.

Requirements

• At least 3-5 years of daily journalism experience.
• Experience managing reporters.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in journalism or related field.
• Knowledge of Google, Adobe, and Microsoft tools.
• Familiarity with the Tri-Valley, Alameda County, and Contra Costa County.

Qualifications

• Fluent in AP Style.
• Available for full-time work from 8-to-5 weekdays, with some night and weekend work required.
• Apart from the Pleasanton office, the position offers a hybrid workplace.

Pay

The salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $75,000 annually.
