About the role
The Retail Associate ensures our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all customers courteously and professionally, treats fellow associates with respect, and maintains a clean, safe, and well-merchandised store. The role involves a variety of functions across all store areas as business needs require.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors, maintaining awareness on the sales floor, and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
- Treat all customers and associates with respect, courtesy, and professionalism; assist customers with merchandise and answer questions knowledgeably.
- Greet customers with eye contact, a smile, and a friendly "hello"; say "thank you" with every register transaction.
- Provide prompt and efficient responses to customer service calls and handle issues courteously, escalating to leadership when needed.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company’s dress code.
- Perform daily sizing and recovery tasks to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store with efficient merchandising.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising items per company guidelines and maintaining brand familiarity.
- Understand and follow the Loss Prevention Awareness program, shortage policies, and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions, safeguarding confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
- Follow all Mark-Out-of-Stock (MOS) policies, including proper identification, processing, and disposal of MOS merchandise.
- Handle cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions accurately, following all policies and procedures.

Requirements
- Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and leadership in a friendly, respectful, and cooperative manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Ability to regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Ability to use store equipment, including PDTs, registers, PCs, janitorial equipment, rolling racks, and ladders.
- For associates working stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
Pay
The base pay range for this role is $17.75 to $18.25 per hour, dependent on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location.
