Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers promptly, handling multiple shoppers efficiently.
• Assess customer needs, share product knowledge, answer questions, direct to merchandise, and offer recommendations; engage in suggestive selling while staying current on product availability.
• Inform customers about store events, promotions, and special activities to enhance their experience and drive sales.
• Address customer issues and use product knowledge to offer alternative solutions, aiming to convert returns into exchanges when possible.
• Regularly communicate merchandise restocking needs, service requirements, and customer feedback to management in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve store and company objectives, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years old.
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and may include overnight shifts.
• Comfortable with or willing to learn technology such as cash registers, hand-held, and mobile devices.
• Good communicator with the ability to engage customers courteously and professionally.
• Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues/concerns courteously and professionally.
• Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
• Ability to learn procedural knowledge acquired through on-the-job training.

Essential Job Functions

• Frequently operate the cash register.
• Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove merchandise up to a height of 5–10 feet.
• Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
• Frequently position self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor.
• Frequently communicate and exchange information with customers in person and by telephone, as well as with managers and coworkers.
• Frequently move across the sales floor assisting customers and to/from the stock room retrieving and putting away merchandise.
• Must be able to identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
