About the role

As an Early Literacy Tutor, you’ll provide contracted instructional services with expertise in reading, mathematics, and writing for students. You’ll diagnose learning skill deficits, deliver prescribed instructional methods, and coordinate with school personnel and parents to support student progress.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose learning skill deficits and deliver prescribed instructional delivery methods as determined by the Company.
  • Consult with school personnel to coordinate efforts in providing services to students.
  • Communicate and conference with parents regarding student progress.
  • Attend training sessions and deliver designated instructional models and strategies in readiness, reading, mathematics, and/or writing skills using Company-designed materials.
  • Develop and maintain individualized, skill-appropriate lesson plans.
  • Ensure supervision of students, including escorting students safely to and from sessions.
  • Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by the Company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
  • Attend and document meetings/training with Company Supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents as required.
  • Maintain inventory of educational materials and supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Non-licensed tutors: Associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution of higher education; or at least two years of study (48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours).
  • Licensed tutors: Proper credentials recognized by the State of MA as a Properly Licensed Teacher.
  • Completion of an FBI/BCI background check.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Unwavering belief that all children can learn.
  • Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication.

Pay

USD $35.00 - $36.00 per hour.

Schedule

Part-time, with options for year-round or summer positions. Flexible arrangements to fit your career and life needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs.
  • Most programs are in school settings.
