Early Learning Specialist I

Description Of Duties/Essential Functions

Under direct supervision, assists with the preparation and serving of food items for individuals served; performs cleaning and maintenance work in the food service area; assists with the stocking of feed items.

Minimum Requirements

• Demonstrate the ability to read, write, speak and follow oral and written English instructions.
• Knowledge of basic weights and measures associated with large scale food preparation.
• Physical ability to operate and/or use a dish machine, blenders, coffee urns, toasters, microwave ovens, knives, serving utensils, etc.
• Spend 80% to 100% of a work day preparing or serving food and cleaning in an ever changing environment.
• Push/pull carts to transport items.
• Lift and carry up to thirty pounds.
• Perform tasks standing and/or walking 95% of a working day.
• Work in an environment subject to many temperature extremes and humidity variations (including slippery floors), due to walk-in freezers and refrigerators, and no summer air conditioning.
