About the role

Catholic Charities of Onondaga County seeks an Early Learning Specialist to work with home-based child care providers in creating engaging, nurturing learning environments for preschool-aged children.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and support home-based child care providers in fostering children's early development and school readiness.
  • Model effective early learning strategies and share child development knowledge.
  • Encourage family engagement and utilize developmental screening tools to support children's growth.
  • Build relationships with community partners and connect families to helpful resources.
  • Participate in outreach, networking, training, and team collaboration.

Requirements

  • Background in early childhood education, family engagement, or a related field through education and/or experience.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License with reliable transportation for travel throughout Onondaga County.
  • Moderate computer literacy and attention to detail.
  • Able to conduct visits in home-based child care settings which may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals.

Schedule

  • 35 hours/week, Monday-Friday, September-June
