Early Intervention Screener

About the role

Lifesteps is hiring two part-time Early Intervention Screeners to assess and evaluate children and infants as they grow and develop. Lifesteps is a local, human services organization based in Butler, serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years by “helping individuals and families with life's changing needs.” The agency provides programs and services to help those with special needs live to their fullest potential.

Part-time positions work out of the Butler Office Wednesday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. No weekends, evenings, or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, administer, score, and interpret developmental screenings for children ages birth to 5 years old
• Share screening results with parents in a professional, non-threatening manner
• Provide parents with information on developmentally appropriate activities and child development

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, Family Studies, Psychology, or a related Human Service field OR High School Diploma with a CDA Certificate
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Current driver’s license and the ability to travel for business with a personal vehicle

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Experience with children, such as: Child Development Assessment experience, prior work as a Teacher Aide, childcare staff, daycare employee, AGS, etc.
