About the role
The Early Head Start Classroom Teacher works in a center-based environment, providing quality childcare to very young children, their parents, other staff, volunteers, and community partners. Responsibilities include working within compliance guidelines such as Head Start Performances Standards, State Licensing Requirements, and other relevant requirements.
Responsibilities

- Communicate effectively with infants and toddlers
- Complete all paperwork and educational requirements accurately and timely
Requirements
- CDA or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education preferred
- Competency in providing effective and nurturing teacher/child interactions
- Ability to communicate in a meaningful and appropriate manner with infants and toddlers
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate verbally and in writing
- Adaptability and flexibility, teamwork, initiative, planning and organization, problem-solving skills
- Physical ability to walk, bend, stoop or stand for extended periods, hold and move small children weighing from 5-50 pounds, and have the sensory capacities to execute essential job functions
- Knowledge of first aid, health & safety measures, or willingness to build competence through post-hire training
