Early Head Start Childhood Educator

About the role

Kansas Children’s Service League is hiring a full-time Early Head Start Childhood Educator in Liberal, KS. This position offers a competitive wage of up to $16.53 per hour and operates on a Monday-Friday schedule with occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and regularly refresh a safe, age-appropriate, welcoming, and trauma-informed classroom environment for enrolled children.
• Provide accurate, timely, record and data keeping and reporting.
• Attend trainings as instructed.
• Supervise classroom activities.
• Ensure compliance with mandated outcomes, program rules, applicable laws, and program standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) certification from the Council for Professional Recognition, preferred.
• Demonstrated awareness of the challenges and strengths of children and families living with lower incomes and/or special needs.
• At least one year of paid experience working with infants and toddlers.
• Paid experience in a licensed childcare setting.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English and Spanish (preferred).

Qualifications

• Associate degree or greater in child development or early childhood education.
• Equivalent coursework with 60 or more credit hours.
