Early Education Preschool Para
About the role
Join a team committed to supporting the whole family in their parenting journey! Rutland County Parent Child Center is seeking nurturing and collaborative Early Childhood Educator para position for a three-year-old. We are dedicated to helping young children develop and grow in a safe, nurturing environment, recognizing individual strengths, creating trusting relationships, and partnering with families and communities to ensure the best possible outcomes for every child. RCPCC uses a 2-Gen approach, working with both families and children simultaneously to identify needs and align programming to deliver services for long-term impacts.
Responsibilities
This particular three-year-old comes with a positive temperament and love for engagement! They are eager to explore the world around them and need a trusted adult to join them in learning. They explore amongst a classroom of about 20 children total. Paras work alongside the Director and Lead Teacher to support the child through their typical daily routines. Paras attend meetings as needed and attend sessions with service providers as appropriate. Their para would be a primary support throughout the day with developmentally appropriate goals around positively engaging with other children. This is a full-time opportunity with the child attending from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, year‑round. Paras may also support breaks in the classroom during the course of the day, as well as other daily responsibilities supporting the whole group. All Early Educators work directly with young children, ages birth through age 5. Lead Teachers plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum to meet objectives through hands‑on, play‑based activities. Classroom environments are created to engage children using philosophies ranging from Montessori to Reggio Emilia. Assistants and floats support the lead, connect with children, and may assist in multiple areas of the center.
