Position Summary
Do you enjoy supporting teachers, learning leadership skills, and growing your career in early childhood education? The Early Education Assistant Manager in Training role is designed to prepare candidates for advancement into an Assistant Manager position. This hands-on training role works alongside the Early Education Manager and Assistant Managers to learn classroom leadership, staff support, scheduling, compliance, and coaching practices within our toddler and preschool programs. The Assistant Manager in Training will gradually assume increased leadership responsibilities while receiving structured guidance, mentorship, and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Work in classrooms in a teaching role for a designated number of hours each week.
- Support Lead and Assistant Teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate practices.
- Aid in maintaining classroom ratios and daily staffing needs.
- Learn and support compliance with all state and center licensing rules and regulations.
- Participate in leadership training and shadowing opportunities with Assistant Managers.
- Assist with onboarding and orientation of new staff alongside Mentor Teachers and management.
- Learn to observe classrooms and provide feedback with guidance from management.
- Assist with scheduling and time-off requests under supervision.
- Support the implementation of teaching strategies and curriculum expectations.
- Follow all licensing rules, company policies, and procedures.
- Model professionalism, positive communication, and teamwork at all times.
- Participate in required trainings, meetings, and professional development activities.
Qualifications
- CDA Certification or actively working toward a CDA or Early Education degree.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in early childhood education.
- First Aid and CPR Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to pass Child Care Licensing background check.
- Ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Permit.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
- Covid vaccination compliant (if applicable to licensing requirements).
- Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish.
- Interest in long-term leadership and growth within early education.
