About The Role

At Dearborn STEM Academy, students in grades 10-12 can take courses at local colleges and universities to earn college credit for free. Early College Student Liaisons support students with their Early College coursework both during class and through additional “sections” designed to help them master course material.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong working relationships with partner college and university professors.
  • Provide in- and out-of-class academic support to students in early college courses, in collaboration with professors.
  • Support students in cultivating self-advocacy, self-confidence, organization, and planning skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with high school students, particularly in a diverse, urban educational setting.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills; a collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Has experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere; highly organized; able to meet deadlines;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse groups of people;
  • Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in Cape Verdean Creole, Spanish, or Portuguese

Location

On-site. Dearborn STEM Academy is at 36 Winthrop St., Roxbury, MA 02119. School hours are 7:30 am - 2:00 pm.

Schedule

The 223 day work-year will include the 180 days in which school is in session, and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or headmaster of the school.
