Be part of something new! The Technology Hill Early Learning Center is building a dedicated team of educators committed to creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment where young children (infancy to preschool) can thrive. This position is based in Londonderry with an anticipated start date in December 2026.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of curriculum plans providing age-appropriate instruction; adapt curriculum and classroom environment based on children's needs and interests.
- Take responsibility for appropriate child supervision during large group, small group, and individual activities.
- Organize and prepare classroom curriculum materials and environment, including documentation displays, assessment portfolios, family communication journals, and center-wide email correspondence.
- Perform classroom-related duties such as snack preparation, child diapering/toileting, cleaning, washing dishes, and laundry.
- Interact with children in a nurturing and developmentally appropriate way while encouraging self-help skills.
- Ensure the supervision and safety of children, including enforcement of child release policies.
- Lead classroom management activities and collaborate with the teaching team to:
- Continuously plan, evaluate, and improve the physical environment to meet the changing needs of children.
- Ensure a safe, developmentally appropriate, and trauma-informed care environment aligned with NH Child Care Licensing Unit (NH CCLU) rules and NAEYC Accreditation Standards.
- Promote and model developmentally appropriate communication, hygiene, behavior, and nutrition.
- Assist with daily and weekly maintenance, sterilization of materials, and cleaning to operate a safe, well-equipped classroom.
- Support children during challenging behaviors using positive guidance, redirection, and proactive social-emotional strategies.
- Take responsibility for child supervision during circle times, small groups, and individual work.
- Perform child observation, assessment, and timely record-keeping in alignment with NAEYC accreditation standards, using authentic documentation of children’s daily experiences to demonstrate growth over time.
- Conduct ongoing developmental evaluations and follow curriculum implementation addressing individual needs of each child; collect and organize assessment materials for curriculum development and family reporting.
- Actively contribute to the professional development, coaching, and supervision of classroom Teacher I’s, Program Assistants, Volunteers, and Interns.
- Create, maintain, and enhance supportive relationships with parents through effective communication (in-person, ProCare messaging, newsletters, etc.).
- Develop family education and participation programs; conduct individual parent conferences at least twice annually and as needed.
- Demonstrate cultural competency by incorporating cultural, linguistic, and familial values into the program and lesson plans.
- Complete daily health checks regarding hygiene, safety, and overall well-being of the children.
- Participate in ongoing staff development, in-services, trainings, and additional meetings as required.
- Attend and contribute to monthly staff meetings, weekly/bi-weekly team meetings, and teacher representative meetings; create and implement a self-improvement plan and engage in annual assessments with a supervisor.
- Promote, train, and follow all NH CCLU rules, NAEYC accreditation standards, and Agency & Program policies and procedures.
- Partner with Early Childhood Teacher I’s and staff to complete NAEYC portfolios and ensure classrooms meet accreditation criteria.
- Collaborate with Agency Staff and community partners to address individual needs of children and families; maintain related documentation.
- Serve on or participate in community programming committees, agency initiatives, and events as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in an early childhood education program.
- Obtain and maintain the New Hampshire Early Childhood Professional Development credential (per NH Licensing Requirements) within the first six (6) months of employment.
- Ability to meet NH Child Care Licensing Unit’s requirements for ‘Center Director’ per NH CCLU He-C4002 (preferred).
- Certified in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated organization and time management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Pay
$23 - $28 hourly, based on experience and education.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week. The center is open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.
