Early Childhood Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Montessori Teachers to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment that supports the holistic development of young children. This role involves implementing Montessori principles to promote independence, curiosity, and a love of learning among preschool-aged students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate Montessori curriculum that encourages exploration, critical thinking, and creativity.
• Create a structured yet flexible classroom environment that promotes independence, responsibility, and social-emotional growth.
• Observe and assess individual student progress, tailoring instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management strategies.
• Prepare lesson plans that incorporate Montessori materials and methods, ensuring alignment with developmental milestones.
• Foster strong communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, milestones, and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional strategies and maintain a cohesive educational approach.
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and child welfare regulations.
• Support the physical, emotional, and social well-being of children through attentive care and guidance.
• Maintain accurate records of student development and participate in ongoing professional development related to early childhood education.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with young children in a preschool or daycare setting is required; Montessori classroom experience is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development theories, curriculum development, and early intervention strategies.
• Experience in behavior management techniques suitable for early learners.
• Familiarity with standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood education.
• Proven ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical education, and other core areas.
• Knowledge of mandated reporting laws and child safety protocols.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with parents, colleagues, and community partners.
• Previous experience in private or daycare settings is advantageous; certification in Montessori teaching methods is desirable.

Education Requirements

• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
• Associate or Bachelor degree in early childhood education or related field.
• Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) preferred (or willingness to complete within two years of hire).
• 3-5 years of teaching experience, ideally in a Montessori environment.

Licensing/Certification Requirements

• First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• DEEDS certification as an Early Childhood Teacher (within 60 days of hire).
