About This Role

Town and Country Early Learning Center in Middletown, CT is hiring an Early Childhood - Teacher to support daily operations at an early childhood education center. This position offers $33,000 – $40,000/Yr and requires relevant professional experience.

What You'll Do

  • Provide individualized attention and education to a small group of children, promoting their cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with our experienced teaching team to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and professionalism in teaching and classroom management.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and activities that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and stakeholders to ensure a smooth and supportive partnership.
  • Foster a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity within the classroom and beyond.
  • Conduct regular parent-teacher conferences to keep families informed about their child's progress.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality in all aspects of the job.
  • Work a standard 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be fully vaccinated against covid-19
  • Minimum of 2 years of early childhood experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills
  • A strong understanding of child development
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment
  • Teachers must hold an AS (BA/BS preferred) in ECE or a related field with at least 12 ECE credits
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening
  • Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception

We're looking for candidates who are passionate about early childhood education and are eager to contribute to our team's success. Previous experience in a NAEYC-accredited program is highly valued, as is a strong understanding of child development principles.
