Early Childhood Teacher Assistant (Open-Until-Filled)

About the role

Assists early childhood teachers in performing their classroom teaching responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Supports teachers in classroom activities
• Helps manage student behavior and classroom environment
• Assists with lesson preparation and implementation
• Participates in professional development opportunities

Requirements

• Speak, read and write in English
• One year of experience working with youth or children
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Associate’s (or higher) degree OR 60 Semester-Hour credits from an accredited institution OR AZ Dept. of Education-approved Academic Assessment Test
• A copy of diploma, transcripts or test results must be submitted upon hire

Qualifications

• AZ Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• CPR and First Aid Certification (required within 90 days of hire at employee's expense)
• A minimum of six units of formal Early Childhood training classes required OR must be willing to enroll in courses

Classification: White Collar
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
