Early Childhood - Teacher Assistant/Aide

About the role

The Learning Curve Daycare in Hamden, CT is seeking a qualified Early Childhood - Teacher Assistant/Aide to work with Mixed / All Ages in a center-based environment. This position requires a willingness to earn a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, with employer support.

Responsibilities

• Engage children in curricula activities and promote participation.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, well-organized, and fully stocked classroom environment.
• Establish and maintain open communication with parents through regular updates and progress reports.
• Model good hygiene and self-help skills.
• Streamline the daily transition process from home to child care center.
• Adhere to all center policies and state regulations.
• Develop a personal professional growth plan to ensure continuous improvement.
• Implement lesson plans and maintain classroom schedules as directed by the Teacher.
• Promote social, emotional, and intellectual growth and development in each child.
• Evaluate and ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times.

Requirements

• An understanding of child development.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work well with others.
• High energy.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
