Job Summary

This is a 9.5 month position, 7 hours per day - 87.50%
Monday-Friday

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and prepare classroom lessons and materials
• Thorough knowledge of the methods, techniques, and procedures used in teaching
• Desire to work with and educate children
• Ability to motivate others, be creative, flexible, and patient
• In order to work under the direct supervision of an appropriately certified teacher to provide instructional assistance, paraprofessionals are require to:
• Obtain 60 college credit hours, or
• Pass the ParaPro Assessment (before September 23, 2013)
• Pass the Paraprofessional Assessment through Pearson (September 23, 2013 through June 20, 2024)
• Pass the ParaPro Assessment through ETS (July 1, 2024 forward)
• Complete the 20HR Substitute Certificate Course

Pay rate is determined based on years of experience, on a step per year basis (Hourly Support Staff Salary Schedule)
